The first place in Virginia that can be a great place to learn about the history is the Air Force Memorial in Arlington, Virginia. The memorial was created to show remembrance for the people that lost their lives in the past. Over 54 thousand people have lost their lives fighting for our country in the Air Force and this site is a place where those people can be remembered. The Air Force Memorial is located near the Pentagon and Arlington Cemetary.

Luray Caverns provide a great way for you and your family to spend the day. The caverns offer paved walkways into large rooms that can be as tall as ten stories. The tour offers views of crystal clear pools, towering stone columns, and the sounds of a Stalacpipe Organ. Luray Caverns are considered to be the most popular and largest caverns of the East side of the US. Outside of the caverns, there are also many other things to see in the area. These attractions include the Luray Valley Museum, Gem Sluice, Toy Town Junction, and the Car and Carriage Museum. This can be a great option for families with children as there is something for everyone to enjoy.

The state of Virginia also has many different national parks that can be visited if you enjoy spending your day outdoors. Visiting the national parks will allow you to see the outdoors, explore monuments and memorials, check out battlefield parks, and see wildlife that you may have never seen before. While there is typically some cost associated with visiting the national parks, the National Park Service offers a few days out of the year that will be free of fees. For this reason, if the parks are what you are interested in, try to plan your trip to take advantage of the free days.
